Through A Soldier's Eyes

I have seen the ends of the worlds
I have seen a child's cries
The lose of innocence in shedding of blood
I have seen through a "Soldier's Eyes."

Home I come with visions now
That still play forth and back
Of hollow crosses and bloody hands
That only reinforce the fact

I have seen the glory of the killing fields
I have seen the lonesome tears
I have seen the bravest men like children fall
At the mercy of their fears

I have seen shrapnel rip through flesh
Tearing apart like dreams
I have seen the hands of men do unspeakable acts
As we were breaking at the seams

I have seen the worst come from the best
I have seen the truth behind the lies
I have seen the world for what it is

I have seen through a "Soldier's Eyes."
